About Us
With over 34 years of experience, we are well-versed in all aspects of Landscaping, Fencing, Gardening, and Grounds Maintenance.
I left school back in 1989 and spent the remainder of the summer mowing village gardens and in the winter supplying firewood when it was mainly kindling for coal fires. As the business grew I obtained Agricultural Training Board qualifications that have transformed today into City & Guilds NPTC and Lantra certification.
In 1990 the business expanded to include council contracts and some prestige private home grounds maintenance. We have worked with all the major property development companies in landscaping, planting turfing, and ongoing grounds maintenance.
The supply of firewood is not simply chopping down a tree. The wood harvested this year is stored and allowed to dry naturally for 12 months today until it’s below 20% moisture. The logs we supply carry our woodsure qualification on the ready-to-burn scheme.

Wood is one of the original and most traditional forms of fuel but over the last 300 years, it has been replaced by fossil fuels like coal, gas, oil and electricity. Wood is a perfect source of renewable energy and has many environmental benefits.
About Our Wood
Immediately after the wood has been harvested it is transported to the wood yard. It is stacked, stored and left to season in our weather proof barn for a minimum of eight months. This process ensures that when burned it will be to its full potential with minimum smoke and maximum flame.

Gritting & Snow Clearing

Kiln Dried Logs
The benefits of wood for fuel
Our kiln-dried logs our imported from Latvia where it is processed into palletised wooden stillages with no waste. Every split log is packed in and then sent off for the drying process in computer-operated drying chambers for 7-8 days. Then when shipped by container to our yard it is unloaded into weatherproof buildings awaiting delivery to you.
In the Kiln dried range, we supply:

Kiln-dried logs are perfect for immediate burning in any stove or on open fires. They produce a greater heat output. Kiln-died logs are dried to less than 20 % moisture so not only are they ready for instant use they are also free from decay & fungi.
The kilns have computer-operated drying chambers so the operators can control the drying process to get the desired moisture content.

Crates of Bulgarian Kiln Dried Logs
Crates of Bulgarian logs, carefully kiln dried to an optimal moisture content of between 10% to 15%, are an exceptional choice for those seeking eco-friendly options for their heating needs. These logs are not only sustainable, but they also provide maximum heat output when used in your stoves.
Barrow Bags Mixed Hardwoods
Logs are conveniently supplied in barrow bags, making them easy to transport from one location to another and allowing for simple storage at home. This practical packaging solution ensures you can effortlessly store the logs in your desired space, ensuring accessibility and organization.
Builders' Bags Mixed Hardwoods

For the smaller log burner that cannot accommodate regular-sized logs, we offer a selection of smaller logs and sticks that are perfect for your needs. These specially designed pieces ensure that your log burner operates efficiently and provides the warmth and ambiance you desire.
Good Fire Lighting Techniques
Knowing how to prepare, lay and light a fire as well as knowing how to extinguish a fire safely and clear the fireplace correctly are all equally important. A fire needs to be built carefully so it is always worth taking time to prepare everything before you light your fire.
For the wood to burn it needs oxygen. You may need to blow gently or use bellows to help the flames spread.
Remove any one of these essential elements and the fire will go out.
